Construction Manager

Location:Yellowstone National Park Wyoming
Period of Performance: Approximately June 2025 to July 2028. Exact dates of performance have yet to be determined and are dependent upon start of construction activities.
Salary Range:$80000 to $95000 DOE

Project/Position Overview:
This Project will rehabilitate/replace the Old Faithful Water Treatment Plant and raw water intake. Work includes construction of a new water treatment plant process building civil site work (including the construction of a soil nail wall to reinforce the wall of the presedimentation pond slope which is failing) modifications to the backwash ponds and pumphouse demolition of the existing water treatment plant building and other obsolete facilities and the rehabilitation of the raw water intake on the Firehole river. The water treatment plant will require significant phasing to maintain water service to the Old Faithful District during the entire duration of the construction project.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
• Read interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specifications.
• Arrange attend and facilitate a variety of meetings including weekly meetings at the project site.
• Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
• Review contractors baseline and progress schedules.
• Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance.
• Understand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mockup inspections.
• Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress workmanship quality and conformance with contract documents applicable building codes and safety standards.
• Organize facilitate and document preparatory initial and followup inspections for the work tasks that warrant the 3phase inspection.
• Deliver reports reviews evaluations design work etc. to CO.
• Review analyze and assist in preparing cost estimates.
• Review and process Construction Contractors RFIs and assist in resolution draft response tracking and follow up.

Required Education Knowledge and Skills:

• Education and professional qualifications related to construction architecture and engineering.
• 5 years related Construction Management Experience.
• Minimum of OSHA 30hour construction safetytraining.
• Knowledge and experience in historical preservation projects.
• Knowledgein construction practices including applicable building codes applicable safety regulations (must have a minimum of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30hour construction safety training) cost breakdown estimating and negotiating and technical writing.
• Knowledge of cost estimatingwith breakdown of labor materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
• Ability to read and interpret plans schedules and other specifications.
• Written and verbal communication problemsolving and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of software including Microsoft Project Word and Excel.
• Maintain a valid drivers license.
• Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check.
• Ability to walk or climb on a daily basis to observe contract performance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced work environment.
• Ability to stand stoop kneel bend walk or climb daily to observe contract performance for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to physically operate a motor vehicle without danger to self or to others.
• Work outside the office involving strenuous activity and exposure to the elements for up to 10 hours per day with weather varying from extreme heat to extreme cold and walking over rough uneven surfaces.
