Duration: 12 month fixedterm appointment initially with possible extension

The Opportunity

Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work as part of a team alongside senior researchers clinicians policy makers and other CMUS research staff. This position reports to a senior academic in CMUS and provides the ideal training opportunity for an enthusiastic and diligent candidate with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) attention to detail and ability.

As the successful candidate you will be:

  • Conducting research either as a member of a team or independently
  • Producing conference and seminar papers and publications from that research
  • Working alongside researchsupport staff involved in the staff members research
  • Providing guidance in the research efforts of junior members of researchonly Academic staff in their research area
  • Contributing to the preparation or where appropriate individual preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies
  • Performing administrative functions primarily connected with their area of research
  • Attending meetings associated with research or the work of the organisational unit to which the research is connected and/or at departmental school and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a limited number of committees

The appointee will have:

  • A doctoral qualification in a health discipline or equivalent qualifications (e.g. Masters in Public Health MClinPharm) with experience in health services/primary care/public health research
  • Demonstrated statistical analysis and manuscript and research proposal preparation skills; including a solid track record of refereed research publications
  • Advanced computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint; and specific experience in working with a range of data management/analytical software.

Prior experience knowledge and expertise in primary care research and an understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods with a focus on health policy digital health and/or quality use of medicines will be an advantage.
