GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestives (UD) Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the performance and productivity of the daytoday operations for revenue cycle management (RCM). This role will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of RCM functions that include managing resources aligning them with bestinclass performance metrics in specific categories of revenue cycle (productivity compliance accuracy effectiveness and efficiency). The Revenue Cycle Manager will also be the primary point of contact for complex RCM issues troubleshooting and escalations research.
REPORTS TO: Director Revenue Cycle Management
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for establishing meeting and exceeding operational workflow productivity and results standards related to the management of the RCM department.
Participates in the development and implementation of a companywide revenue cycle integration model that coordinates and aligns the resources deployed to revenue cycle functions in efforts to build consistency of workflow and optimization of resources.
Develops implements and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for the department. Remains up to date and current on local and national billing and coding changes and updates and communicates policies as needed
In partnership with the Director designs and develops the appropriate organizational structure for the RCM department. Posts and interviews for open positions. Hires orients and trains employees.
Organizes manages and monitors the daytoday operations and performance productivity of staff in revenue cycle roles
Provides leadership to the staff and acts as a resource and role model for the RCM team
Monitors and ensures staff follow through with assigned actions/workflow and provides training/coaching
Manages employee performance providing ongoing performance feedback and addresses problems
Trains and educates staff as appropriate on revenue cycle activities coding billing and reimbursement practices
Maintains and monitors revenue cycle metrics
Acts as point of escalation for complex/difficult issues. Escalates issues as appropriate to the respective manager or department leadership
Provides problem solving assistance and may participate in larger department or company projects
Provides and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies in the revenue cycle function
Prepares operational reports analyses and audits reflecting progress adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions
Liaisons between contracted billing companies and contractors on all revenue cycle related issues.
Attend regular meetings to review A/R reports and discuss operational concerns related to revenue cycle
Monitors effectiveness of collection efforts of contracted billing companies by monitoring and auditing collections adjustments and timely submission of charges and timely resolution of appeals and denials
Answers emails and voicemails returning calls in a timely and efficient manner
Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
REQUIRED EDUCATION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration related field or additional language fluency is required; 35 years of experience with increasing responsibility and or/demonstrated leadership experience in billing and collections in the healthcare industry required; ambulatory surgical center and medical billing highly preferred management and/or supervisory experience preferred; exceptional problemsolving skills needed. Employee must be computer literate and able to operate both EMR system and multiple Microsoft Office Applications.
