Join innovative faculty in the Department of Teacher Development and Educational Studies at Oakland University. We invite applications for an Elementary (PK6 Clinical Teacher Educator at the rank of Special Instructor. We seek an individual with expertise in the area of educational foundations (e.g. assessment literacy; instructional design; equity diversity and inclusion; classroom community) as well as interest in the clinical practice of preservice teachers. Applicants who have engaged in and apply equitable teaching practices have an interest in practicebased teacher preparation as well as schooluniversity partnerships and teaching quality are particularly encouraged to apply. We value candidates who can work collaboratively across departments and institutional boundaries and participate in sustained engagement with local schools and organizations. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to elementary teaching; develop new courses to advance program delivery; work closely with School and Field Services to implement a clinicallyrich teacher preparation program; and collaborate to write grants and shape innovative programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates are expected to have: 1 a doctorate or advanced degree in education with scholarly expertise in the foundations of education teacher education or related field; 2 successful teaching experience at the PK6 level. ABD candidates will be considered if completed by August 15 of 2019.
