Program Manager Economics of Climate and Green Growth

WRI India an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. WRI Indias mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earths environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. Through research analysis and recommendations WRI India puts ideas into action to build transformative solutions to protect the earth promote livelihoods and enhance human wellbeing.
We are inspired by and associated with World Resources Institute (WRI) a global research organization. Currently over 300 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices in Delhi Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Climate Economics & Finance (CEF) Program at WRI India
At WRI India we believe tackling the climate crisis demands bold ideas indepth research and transformative action. Through collaboration and strategic partnerships we bridge the gap between knowledge and impact ensuring datadriven solutions drive meaningful and scalable change. TheClimate Economics and Finance (CEF) Program leverages cuttingedge analysis innovative tools and realworld implementation to inform Indias lowcarbon transitionone that is technologically viable economically feasible socially inclusive and naturepositive.
About the Role
As Program Manager Economics of Climate and Green Growth you will play a pivotal role in analysing economic pathways that can drive Indias just inclusive and sustainable transition to Net Zero. We are looking for a critical thinker and problemsolver passionate about leveraging quantitative methods and economic analyses to inform the future of peoplecentred climate action in India.
How your day will unfold:
  • Solve Complex Problems: Develop new approaches and deploy economic methods to inform policies for lowcarbon development pathways at national or subnational levels. Lead economic and policy analysis and develop sectoral roadmaps and strategies.
  • Lead HighImpact Research: Drive datadriven insights based on rigorous research that can inform policies business strategies and interventions. Lead scenario development sensitivity analysis and economic assessments of lowcarbon pathways. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in data collection model calibration and policy impact assessments.
  • Mentor & Lead teams: Guide a team of bright aspiring researchers and foster technical excellence and critical thinking.
  • Translate Research into Action: Produce publications articles and blogs that translate complex research into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with policymakers industry leaders and experts to strengthen partnerships and scale impact.
What Were Looking For
  • 710 years of experience in energyeconomy modelling climate policy economic analysis and research.
  • Advanced proficiency in modelling tools such as R Python STATA GAMS Vensim or GIS software is desirable
  • Proven track record of leading policydriven research publications and highimpact collaborations.
  • Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills to convey insights to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in team management project management and stakeholder engagement.

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Location: New Delhi / Bengaluru / Mumbai
Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance & project needs)
