Job Description
Sattler College invites applications for a twosemester position as Visiting Professor of History (open rank). The professor will teach three courses per term in modern history and expository writing with at least two courses focused on the histories of nonEuropean/nonNorth American people groups. The professor will also advise senior history majors in writing a senior thesis. The position is fulltime for 10 months with premium health benefits commencing in August 2025. Candidates should have completed a doctoral degree or be assured of completion by that date.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate history courses utilizing a variety of effective teaching and learning strategies and integrating classroom and digital technologies.
Maintain consistent office hours for student consultation and mentorship.
Engage actively in the development of a Christcentered academic community. Faculty members are expected to integrate Christian faith with their teaching and scholarship and provide leadership among faculty staff and students.
Specific Duties
Deliver lectures and seminars across the history curriculum with a particular focus on areas that align with the colleges mission.
Provide academic counseling and support to history students.
Participate in communitybuilding activities including Tea Time to foster a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
Minimum: Ph.D
Preferred: Experience in collegiate teaching.
Preferred: Demonstrated commitment to Christian education and the ability to integrate faith and learning in a scholarly environment.
