Position Title:Occupational Therapist
Department: Child and Family Services
Reports to: Early Intervention Team Lead
FLSA: Exempt
Supervisor responsibilities: N/A
Starting Range: $80084.31 $83441.65 annually* rates reflect FY2425 and subject to change contact to confirm rates.

General Description:
Provide early intervention services utilizing occupational therapy expertise family and community centered practices to ensure families have options in fostering the early development of their child. Work in mobile communitycentered environment using electronic and webbased documents and record keeping.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Assessment
Provide assessment of motor and assistive technology/adaptive equipment needs when requested by the IFSP team.
Complete ongoing assessment according to system policy.
Intervention
Provide evidencebased interventions based on the Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP).
Utilize intervention strategies that build on the routines of the child and family and may occur in multiple natural environments.
Utilize early childhood best practices that look at the whole child not just individual modalities.
Serve as primary provider for assigned children. Utilize teambased consultations from other team members.
Teaming
Provide consultation in team meeting and 1:1 when requested by Transdisciplinary Team.
Partner with parents and professionals to write and implement formal and informal plans.
Participate in periodic and annual IFSP reviews of assigned children.
Work together with team and family to ensure a smooth transition from Part C to Part B or other community settings.
Parent Support
Empower parents to carry on learning in natural environments.
Foster leadership and positive regard for families.
Respond to cultural and linguistic diversity in families.
Adhere to procedural safeguards under Part C of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Administration
Complete all appropriate paperwork related to the provision of occupational therapy services for all assigned cases in a timely manner.
Maintain personal professional continuing education.
Attend meetings public awareness activities and community events related to the provision of early intervention services.
Perform driving responsibilities as related to the job.
A working (personal) vehicle valid CO drivers license (unless active Military family) and minimum insurance levels $100000/$300000/$100000 liability coverage)
Provide mentoring to contracted Physical Therapists and Assistants Occupational Therapists & Assistants and Early Intervention Specialists.
Assist in the development of continuing education to staff and contracted service providers.
Completes and documents targeted case management (TCM) activities according to CMS and
DDD rules as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Participate in professional opportunities (committees workshops conferences journal readings) based on personal professional development plan.
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Minimum: Oneyear experience working with young children with disabilities or delays.
Preferred: Three years working with young children in a transdisciplinary team model.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum: BA in Occupational Therapy and Colorado licensure/certification as an Occupational of Part C of IDEA natural environments and daily routines evaluation techniques and tools as pertaining to early childhood. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to facilitate group meetings. Knowledge of community resources and supports available to families. Experience working with young children with special needs including infants and toddlers and their families. Intermediate level of computer application and mobile technology expertise.
Preferred: MA in Occupational Therapy. Working knowledge of Medicaid Waiver programs and requirements; experience working with persons with disabilities. Knowledge of and experience working with community resources and resource development. Experience with specialized motor interventions for infants and toddlers. Experience in the assessment of need and implementation of adaptive equipment and assistive technology for infants and toddlers. Experience in sensory disorders oral motor and feeding issues.

Working Environment/Physical Activities: Office community private residences commercial properties and virtual environment settings. Moderate physical activity required such as walking sitting standing and lifting up to 20 pounds. A working vehicle valid CO drivers license (unless active Military family) and minimum insurance levels $100000/$300000/$100000 liability coverage) are required.
