App Demise Data analystsOverviewThe App demise programme within first direct has a heavy reliance on Data Analysts/Engineers who can analyse understand and map the existing data repositories and flowsThis is a varied role which requires someone who is comfortable working with unfamiliar data and doing investigation based on high level requirements. See graphic below for more detailsKey attributes are the ability to take initiative and work without close postholder will be required to complete and report on analysis and must be able to communicate effectively to business and technical team members at all levelsThe postholder must have technical skills although much of the work will be analysis rather than developmentTask outline Mapping existing data and flows with legacy systemsProducing data extracts to support Business AnalystsMapping data on inbound and outbound interfaces Review data in legacy systems to understand characteristics lineage and redundancySkillsStrong SQL skills critical for ad hoc data manipulation and analysisExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTask ownership and ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supportStrong Excel skills would be advantageous as the role will require an element of data knowledge of TerradataData lineage experience (end to end traceability and understanding of transformations)Systems analysis / Data analysis skills and experience investigating data sources understanding data flowsGood knowledge of data driven processes and data designWorking knowledge of SAS would be advantageous but is not criticalUnderstanding of Agile working and project lifecycle along with ability to prioritise according to frequently changing project of related first direct / HSBC systems would be an advantage
