About the role
The IT graduate support officer role sits within the organisations IT Service Desk team and is a fantastic opportunity to gain a deep insight into Information Technology in the workplace.
You will be responsible to provide firstline technical support by resolving user issues related to hardware software and network systems. You will manage service requests and incidents through ticketing systems ensuring timely resolution and clear communication. Additionally you will also help maintain user access system functionality and customer satisfaction across the organization.
Having recently graduated with an IT related qualification you will have strong communication and customer service skills and enjoy using your strong problem solving and analytical skills. With a desire to learn and grow you will have confidence in collaborating at all levels within the business and across the Information Technology department.
What your day will look like
- Respond to incoming tickets and Phone Support: These can include Software installation requests Hardware issues (e.g. printer not working blue screens) Email or access problems
- Remote troubleshooting: Using tools like LogMeIn and SCCM Remote Assistant to resolve user issues directly.
- User walkins: Helping employees who show up with laptops or devices needing attention.
- Project work: Assist with various IT Projects
- Create internal documentation
- Monitor systems: Check dashboards for server outages network issues or security alerts.
What you will bring
- Open to recent graduates (within the last 12 years) with a degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Technical skills include Windows macOS iOS Android basic networking (IP DNS VPN) hardware/software support Microsoft 365 Active Directory ITIL fundamentals and Office 365 tools like SharePoint Teams Intune and Power BI.
- Professional skills include time management clear documentation and a strong customer service mindset.
- Effective communication patience empathy and teamwork.
- Strong problemsolving skills with a focus on troubleshooting attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.
If you progress past the interview stage you may be required to complete preemployment screening which may include police checks a medical qualification verification and an Australian work rights check.
