Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multistep progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

This is professional and technical work handling housingand installing works of art in the Museums collection or on loan. TheAssistant Preparator is a member of the Museums curatorial department and works cooperatively with the curators and registrars under the directsupervision of the Preparator/Designer.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and six 6 months of rough orfinished carpentry or woodworking experience.

NOTE: Qualifyingeducation training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge skillsand abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid Alabamadrivers license as needed to pick up parts from local vendors and transportworks of art. May work overtimeweekends and holidays. May require outoftown and outofState overnightcourier travel.

Kind of Examination

Applicants will bescreened qualified and ranked based on education and experience as shown onthe application.
