Physician Assistant Orthopedic:
Our Central Maine Healthcare Orthopedics Team is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join its growing practice. The physician assistant in this role will provide advanced practitioner care to patients under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon. Operative assistance for orthopedic surgery in both the hospital setting and our Ambulatory Surgery Center is a primary element of this position. The physician assistant will perform inpatient rounding on admitted patients monitor patient progress formulate care plans and followup and counsel patients and families.
In the clinical setting the physician assistant coordinates overall care to enhance the entire patient experience which includes oneonone new pre and postoperative consults physical assessments treatment plans laboratory and diagnostic tests and patient referrals for ongoing care.
The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedic surgery. Practice hours are Monday Friday and a fourday workweek is available. Afterhours and weekend call coverage are requirements of this position.
Qualifications
* Unencumbered license to practice as PA in the state of Maine or eligible to receive in the State of Maine
* PA must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program; NCCPA certified
* PA must complete 100 hours of CME every two 2 years and take the recertification exam every six 6 years
* Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required
* Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS preferred
* Current DEA with no restrictions Strong computer skills including EMR/EHR
