Summary Statement
Several seasonal park maintenance positions are available at Alapocas Run/Wilmington State Parks:
Park Maintenance $15.75 responsible for the maintenance of grounds facilities and equipment in a park or a recreation area.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors weekends evenings and holidays as scheduled to meet facility needs.
Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Performs grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing trimming athletic field maintenance landscape bed maintenance trash removal vegetation removal leaf removal and snow/ice removal.
Performs custodial services in restrooms offices and other buildings.
Operates landscaping equipment and use of hand and power tools.
Setsup monitor and becoming cleanup support for park programs and special events.
Maintains good public relations with park visitors and staff.
Maintains gardens and landscaped areas of the park which includes plant installation and removal weeding soil conditioning mulching pruning and applying pesticides.
Understand and follow best management practices for handling mixing and applying pesticides.
Provides excellent customer service and park information to visitors.
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility dependability and good communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Other duties as assigned.

be at least 18 years of age.
