Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc. (SEL) seeks professional innovative and detailed individuals for our Senior Application Engineer Automation position located at our field office in Irvine California.

Senior Application Engineer Automation (Multiple Openings)
Responsibilities:
The Senior Application Engineer Automation will provide technical leadership in power system automation and all SEL related products (involving software integration and automation industrial controls PLCs relevant industry protocolssuch as IEC61850 DNP and ModbusEthernet systems protocol analyzers and industry SCADA practices). The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical engineering and information technology management and: 1 develop solutions to complex electric power system automation problems; 2 help customers apply SEL products through visits demonstrations training courses and telephone contacts; 3 contribute to new product specifications and enhancements internal product and process improvement ideas applications and testing software and literature; 4 broadcast new information on product applications and testing to SEL national field offices; 5 participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences; 6 develop coursework and teach in training schools for customers and SEL personnel; 7 create internal white papers application guides notes template guides software tools industry journals training school course material and technical papers; 8 organize and direct conference and seminar activities; and 9 follow and improve marketing sales and engineering quality procedures.
TRAVEL:
These fulltime positions will be based out of SELs field office in Irvine California. However because the company has numerous customers nationwide travel 25 of the time is required as the incumbent will occasionally and on a shortterm basis be deployed to various customer sites. Candidates must therefore be willing to travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States on an ongoing basis.
Salary Range: $163000.00 $171000.00 per year.
