First (Days)Overview:
Performs Histology functions to include accessioning microtomy embedding and slide preparations utilizing scientific knowledge of histology principles and following standard operating procedures. Maintains technical policies and procedures; operates and maintains equipment instruments tools and manages inventory.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility. Assists Manager with daily operations coordination of work achievement of departmental goals and objectives customer satisfaction and in meeting regulatory requirements. Maintains specialized expertise within assigned area. Routinely assumes charge of department in prioritizing workload and
resolving problems in absence of Manager.
2 years in Histology required. Associate degree in a chemical physical or biological science from an accredited institution required. Bachelor degree preferred. Education experience and ASCP certification must be maintained within the specific discipline.
