Job Summary

The Vehicle Systems Division (VSD) sits at the center of the ideas and data behind current and future systems supplying innovative research and development; technical evaluations during the acquisition process; conceptual and detailed design; assembly integration and test; and operational support. Comprised primarily of highlytrained mechanical and aerospace engineers VSD provides national expertise in the areas of vehicle engineering; guidance navigation and controls; robotics; electromechanical devices; embedded systems; fluid mechanics; propulsion; thermal control; mechanisms; structures; structural dynamics; and dynamic environments.

The Vehicle Systems Software Department (VSSD) performs independent verification and validation of flight software embedded within avionics systems aboard launch vehicles spacecraft and other vehicle systems. VSSD is seeking a Electronics Technician Flight Software Integration Lab Retiree Casual ATS)to join our growing team. You will be working within our stateoftheart labs where we develop hardwaresoftware test beds (e.g. hardwareintheloop platforms) for the purposes of providing functional endtoend testing of flight systems software through integration with flight hardware and/or engineering development hardware.

Work Model

This is a retiree casual parttime position based in El Segundo CA which requires 100 onsite work.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with engineering technical staff to design build and test hardwareintheloop and integrated hardwaresoftware test beds

  • Fabricate cables wiring harnesses circuit boards and electrical interfaces

  • Set up test instruments (e.g. oscilloscopes logic analyzers) and support troubleshooting/debugging activities

  • Support procurement inventory and maintenance of laboratory hardware and supporting equipment

  • Ensure compliance with safety and metrology guidelines and policies

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Electronics Technician Flight Software Integration Lab (Retiree Casual ATS):

  • Completed 4year vocational trade school 4year Apprenticeship program with a High school diploma or GED is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable professional experience is required

  • Retiree Casual:An employee who has retired from the corporation and is rehired as a casual employee after a minimum sixmonth break in service

  • Casual employment is normally for fewer than 20 hours a week usually noncontinuous irregular and infrequent

  • Willingness to occasionally travel and to work offbusiness hours to support customer needs

  • Experience providing support for aerospace hardwaresoftware testbed laboratory electronics hardware and computing equipment

  • Experience collaborating with engineering technical teams to design build and test hardwaresoftware test beds

  • Experience fabricating custom electronics components (e.g. cables wiring harnesses electrical data connectors circuit boards etc)

  • Experience working with electrical diagrams interface control documents and circuit schematics

  • Experience maintaining laboratory inventory safety and metrology standards

  • Experience setting up general purpose computing equipment and peripherals

  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows machines.

We offer a competitive compensation package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The gradebased pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge and skills.
