We are currently recruiting for an experiencedSafety Advisor to join our wellestablished Health Safety Environment division. This is apermanent fulltimeopportunity based out of ourMackay QLD office.
Reporting to the Safety Manager the primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate all aspects of Health Safety Sustainability & Risk Management for Hastings Deering employees working within our operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will involve the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and assistance to foster a safe and healthy work environment
- Evaluate and inspect workplace environments and practices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Assist in preshift planning scheduling and inspections to maintain operational safety
- Contribute to and implement our safety management system aligning with company and legislative requirements
- Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations and coordinate accident/incident reporting and corrective actions
- Coordinate Workplace Rehabilitation Program for injured employees to ensure optimal recovery and minimised premiums
- Conduct inductions and training ensuring compliance with site and Company requirements

Essential requirements
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following knowledge skills and attributes:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Workplace rehabilitation Coordinator qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Experience in incident investigation and reporting experience
- Australian Full Work Rights
