The Brandywine Zoo is managed by Delaware State Parks with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. This quaint facility is home to a variety of species of mammals birds reptiles and amphibians. At Brandywine Zoo visitors return again and again to see our animals in natural settings.

Summary Statement
A variety of seasonal Camp Positions may be available at Brandywine Zoo which may include the following:
Seasonal Zoo Camp Counselor $15.50 Will be working with our full time education staff and Zoo Camp Interns to develop and implement themed camp lesson plans materials and evaluation tools for our camp programs.
Seasonal Camp Assistant Director $17.50 Will supervise mentor and guide Camp Counselor. Will assist Zoo staff in managing campers and camp activities.
Applicants must be available to work weekends evenings and holidays as scheduled. Work is performed under various weather conditions.
Essential Functions
Essential functions are fundamental core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Plan and lead daily activities for summer camps.
Ensure a fun educational and safe environment for children.
Develop and create handson activities games and crafts.
Safely handle and present wild/exotic animals.
Follow guidelines as outlined in our Zoo Camp Handbook for medical situations behavior problems and other camper situations.
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility dependability and good communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Camp Counselor
be at least 18 years of age.
year experience with a camp program for children or young adults.
of animals zoos wildlife conservation zoology biology or other natural sciences.
of public speaking or interpretation.
of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
Assistant Camp Director
be at least 18 years of age.
year experience working in a camp program for children or young adults.
year experience in supervising groups staff or volunteers.
of animals zoos wildlife conservation zoology biology or other natural sciences.
of public speaking or interpretation.
of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
