The Opportunity
Monash Law is seeking to appoint two outstanding legal practitioners to join our clinical legal education team as Level B Lecturers (Education-Focused) at Monash Law Clinics. One position will focus on family law while the other will suit a generalist lawyer with experience in areas such as tenancy fines credit and debt or employment.
These positions play a key role in providing students with practical legal experience while delivering high-quality legal services to the community. The successful candidates will supervise students in clinical legal education units manage a caseload within the clinic and contribute to curriculum development by integrating their professional expertise into the educational/learning process/content. They will also support the effective operation of the clinics contribute to community engagement and participate in advocacy law reform and partnership-building activities.
Ideal candidates will have relevant legal practice experience strong teaching and supervisory skills and a commitment to innovation in legal education. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities with the capacity to work collaboratively across academic and community legal settings. A commitment to educational excellence and social justice is essential. Colleagues on Education Focused contracts are required to engage in scholarship and a commitment to developing this facet of their role is required.
