St. Joseph Catholic Parish located in Cockeysville seeks a dynamic and passionate Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry to nurture the faith journey of our younger generations. As part of our vibrant and diverse community of over 3000 families you will play a crucial role in developing tomorrows Catholic leaders and active participants in both our parish and the Universal Church. This is a fulltime benefit eligible position that includes weekends.
Essential Functions
- Vision & Leadership: Collaborate with parish staff to implement St. Josephs mission while developing sustainable programs for teenagers and young adults in our parish and the Cockeysville community
- Faith Formation: Design and lead Confirmation preparation and nontraditional sacramental preparation for middle and high school students
- Team Building: Inspire mentor and coordinate teams of adult volunteers who will facilitate specific ministries within youth programming
- Service & Outreach: Partner with our Director of Outreach to create meaningful service opportunities that help young people grow in faith and connection to Christ
- Student Leadership: Empower teen leaders to participate in parish ministry (as ushers lectors etc. and leadership opportunities (NCYC Mount 2K ND Vision)
- School Partnership: Collaborate with our National Blue Ribbon St. Joseph Parish School to enhance faith formation for middle school students
- Community Connections: Serve as liaison for Scouting programs and work with external ministries (Archdiocese APYM NFCYM) to advance youth ministry
- Cultivate generations of disciple leaders who understand their identity and purpose in Christ
- Build sustainable youth and young adult programs through effective adult volunteer teams
- Increase participation of youth and young adults in parish life through small groups service liturgy and faithenriching activities
- Strengthen the connection between St. Joseph Parish School families and our broader parish community
- Create an environment so welcoming that teenagers naturally invite their friendsboth churched and unchurchedto experience authentic relationships and spiritual growth
Position Qualifications
- Practicing and devoted Catholic who is fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church.
- Bachelors degree in Theology Religious Studies preferred.
- Experience working with or volunteering in parish/diocesan youth ministry
- Ability to coordinate and inspire teams of adults and teenage volunteers
- Proficiency with technology including social media and basic computer skills
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication abilities
- Cultural awareness of trends and current events relevant to younger generations
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred but not required
- Most importantly: a deep personal faith and passion for sharing Christ with young people
Range: $24.04 28.85 Hourly
