With over 400 employees in Southern Colorado you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff case managers clinicians physicians nurses and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

Were hiring a Clinical Care Specialist/Activities Counselor to join our Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) and become an active member at Health Solutions. This position is located at our Family Center program in Pueblo CO.

What You Would Be Doing:The Clinical Care Specialist/Activities Counselor will be responsible for assisting with program and curriculum development mentoring schoolaged youth and providing developmentally appropriate activities to foster healthy habits coping skills character development stewardship healthy boundaries and empowering youth to live up to their highest potential.

Under the supervision of the Director of Perry Hall the Clinical Care Specialist/Activities Counselor is responsible for:

  • Actively participating in all scheduled team meetings and trainings as required.
  • Helping to plan a comprehensive multicultural curriculum to promote the growth and development of all children in their program.
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of all children.
  • Supporting each childs individual goals to enhance their learning and development.
  • Actively participating in planned parent communication at the guidance of the Program Director.
  • Tracking daily attendance and activities in the agencysupplied management platform.
  • Completing documentation in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the centers emergency procedures and able to carry out emergency preparedness fire and tornado drills regularly.
  • Adhering to all health safety and food handling and sanitation requirements.
  • Providing a developmentally appropriate healthy and safe learning environment for the children in the program.
  • Modeling and practicing developmentally appropriate behavior when working with children families and staff.
  • Responsible for constant and attentive supervision of all children in their care.
  • Flexibility to work with all ages of children from schoolaged to 16 years of age.
  • Handling emergencies such as first aid parent contacts etc.
  • Following all policies and procedures of Health Solutions.
  • Following all Colorado Childcare and Health Department Rules and Regulations.
  • Extensive cross training between multiple departments will be required.
  • Performing other jobrelated duties assigned by the Site Supervisor or their designee.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking ForThe MustHaves:

  • Must be at least nineteen years of age.
  • Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • or a degree from an accredited college or university with major study in Child Psychology Early Childhood Special Education Educational Leadership and Administration Elementary Education Family and Human Development Family Studies or Special Education
  • Preferably a letter of verified experience hours in the care and supervision of four or more school aged children not related to applicant
  • A valid Colorado drivers license and/or access to reliable transportation during work hours
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and adults from a wide variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds who are experiencing crisis situations
  • Knowledgeable regarding behavioral health physical health and child serving systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to sit on the floor walk bend stand sit

What We Would Like To See In YouThe NiceToHaves:

  • Bilingual
  • A current Child Development Associate Credential CDA.
  • Valid CPR and FirstAid Certification
