Empower Future Nurses: Become Our Next Inspiring Nursing Instructor! We are searching for a fulltime tenuretrack 9month instructor to teach in the Associate Degree Nursing ADN Program and prepare students eligible to take the NCLEX RN examination starting Spring semester. This program is offered on the LLCC main campus in Springfield IL. Fulltime faculty members teach 15 credit hours for load each fall and spring semester with small class sizes and the potential to teach additional courses during the summer term. LLCC employs facetoface online hybrid and remote instructional modalities and offers courses in 16week and 8 week formats. LLCC faculty their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Faculty can also enjoy free access to our oncampus fitness center. The position will include classroom nursing skills laboratory teaching and supervision of the students in the clinical setting. Duties will include teaching 15 contact hours per semester of assigned classes labs and clinicals; preparing lessons and course syllabi; evaluating and assisting students; keeping accurate records of student performance including following grading procedures; providing students with timely feedback; maintaining office hours; participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success and active learning; utilizing instructional technology in support of the teaching/learning process; developing integrating evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of LLCC and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing ACEN ongoing accreditation; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. The Department of Health Professions consists of 32 fulltime faculty. The Dean of Health Professions heads the department. Evening hours may be required and opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching assignments. Faculty salaries are determined by education level and experience and will be between $49545 and $89100. Below are the salary ranges for each level of education. Additional compensation beyond base salary can be earned through extra teaching assignments during the academic year and in the summer as well as coordinator assignments. Required Qualifications
Masters degree in nursing by state statute is required for nursing faculty Candidates must have a state of Illinois nursing license or be eligible to apply for one Recent hospital clinical experience in general medical surgical nursing Strong interpersonal skills Intermediate to advanced computer skills Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drugscreen.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience especially at a community college Experience teaching using Canvas and/or other online learning platforms
Work Schedule
MondayFriday including evening and weekend hours as needed. Assigned courses and associated class meeting times vary each semester.
