Role: Mobile Enforcement Officer

Department: Operational Support Unit

Location:Maltby

Salary:

Hours:37 (plus 14 shift allowance and weekend working)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for a Mobile Enforcement Officer who will undertake roadside speed enforcement utilising both vehicle based enforcement equipment and fixed site equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate roadside traffic data collection equipment retrieve data and present it in an appropriate format.
  • View recorded offences and compile computer records to enable appropriate action to be taken.
  • Obtain registered keeper details and prepare Notices of Intended Prosecution.
  • Liaise with service engineers when problem arise with safety camera equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activity for evidential purposes.
  • Provide minor maintenance and problemsolving service for all equipment used.
  • Attend court to give supporting evidence when required.
  • Prepare witness statements with appropriate supporting evidence.

Skills and experience:

  • Full Clean driving licence with the ability to pass a Police Basic Driving Assessment.
  • PC Literate with experience in Windows based applications.
  • Resilience / ability to work under pressure.
  • Be comfortable working alone for periods of time.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a prerequisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
