Job Description
Nursery Crew Tech: Assisting native plant nursery staff with a variety of tasks including but not limited to: care of plant stock (weeding watering fertilizing transplanting) trimming and pruning of shrubs and trees maintaining irrigation systems control via hand pulling and herbicide application grounds maintenance (mowing edging raking) seed collection outplanting of native plants at restoration sites and maintaining equipment (UTVs mowers string trimmers and water pumps).
Field Crew Tech: Works as part of a crew to implement projects on the Forrest Oxbow and Dunstan Conservation properties as well as project work for the John Day Watershed Restoration program on sites throughout the John Day River Basin. Work to Include habitat enhancement projects installation of spring developments juniper felling and hand piling tree planting for up to three months per year control of noxious weeds using herbicides and mowers fence repair and building in addition to operating and maintaining shop and field equipment. Knowledge and experience of various fence building techniques ATV/Skid steer/backhoe.
Requirements
Applicant will be expected to work while standing sitting kneeling and frequent bending and lifting for long periods with reasonable accommodation. Applicant should be able to lift/move objects of up to 50 lbs. Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors sometimes in inclement weather. Some weather clothing will be provided dependent on task.
JOB SITE LOCATION: Prairie City Oregon.
