Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Work Manager to provide clinical
supervision professional development and program management to support the social
emotional development of students across Uncommon Schools. This role will work closely with
the Regional Director of Social Work to ensure highquality social work services and support the
development of schoolbased social work programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Supervision and Professional Development

  • Provide weekly/biweekly clinical supervision to school social workers and school counselors
  • Develop and facilitate August professional development sessions alongside Regional Director to enhance clinical practice
  • Facilitate monthly group supervision and quarterly PREP days
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Social Work to identify learning goals and develop training plans

2. Program Management and Development

  • Oversee and manage the socialemotional learning program for school social workers and school counselors
  • Work with school leaders and SWSCs to identify program needs and develop solutions
  • Partner with the Regional Director to regularly review and update the School Social Work and School Counselor handbook
  • Ensure that all policies procedures and guidelines are current compliant with regulatory requirements and aligned with Uncommon Schools mission and values

3. Review and Analysis of Social Work Data

  • Review the Social Work Workbook with school social workers and counselors during clinical supervision checkins to ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Analyze the data to identify trends strengths and areas for improvement
  • Regularly review SESIS Encounter to ensure school social workers and counselors (SWSCs) are:
    • Providing mandated counseling sessions to students
    • Accurately and timely inputting documentation of sessions
    • Use data from SESIS Encounter to identify trends strengths and areas for improvement
    • Provide feedback and support to SWSCs to ensure compliance with mandated counseling requirements and accurate documentation

4. Collaboration and Communication

  • Assist school leaders social workers and other stakeholders to support student and family needs
  • Share responsibility with the Regional Director of Social Work for creating and disseminating the monthly social work newsletter
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director to plan and execute celebrations and events that promote team building and recognize the contributions of SWSCs

Qualifications :

Requirements:

  • New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with at least 3 years of postlicensure experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a social work or related field with a proven track record of leadership and collaboration
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working within Uncommon Schools with a deep understanding of our organizations mission values and policies
  • Exceptional organizational time and task management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities manage competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations with a deep understanding of and commitment to cultural competence
  • Familiarity with datadriven decision making with the ability to collect analyze and use data to inform practice and drive improvement
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with social workers school leaders and other stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in urban schools or communities
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
  • Familiarity with the NYC DOE and CSE referral process

Compensation

Compensation for this role is between $95200 to $112000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $95200 $100800. 

Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development education certifications and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
