Lakeland Attendant Counselor 3
Lakeland Village Residential Habilitation Center has an opportunity for you to use your coaching and mentoring skills to work with people with intellectual disabilities.
As an Attendant Counselor 3Shift Lead you will be a shift charge assist train monitor and keep DD clients free of abuse/neglect in a homelike setting. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team following IMR/Nursing Home Regulations.
Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed onsite at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5 premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
This is a Shift 2 position 2:30PM11:00PM Friday and Saturdays off) at the Ponderosa Cottages.
Some of what youll do:- As a shift charge assign staff duties instruct and check the work of others
- Assist and train or maintain clients in all areas of ADLs and personal care including bathing dressing grooming feeding toileting personal hygiene social behavior behavioral management choicemaking and household management
- Transports clients to appointments activities etc
- Provide money management opportunities whenever appropriate
- Observe document and report changes in individuals physical/mental conditions or unusual behaviors; provide client safety security and protection
- Implement individual programs plans and services that are designed to maintain skills and facilitate independence; carry our prescribed programs as daily schedules require or as written
- Provide care in accordance with the Care Plan/IHP
- Perform light housekeeping duties and launder clients personal clothing and bedding
Were looking for professionals who have successfully demonstrated:- Demonstrate good judgment in supporting clients in crisis by emphasizing the helping relationship using programapproved methods
- Willing and able to transport clients as necessary
- Must be able to effectively communicate with management peers clients and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position
Professionals who have:- High school diploma or GED and two years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Or High school graduation or GED and two years of experience as an Attendant Counselor 1 equivalent or higherlevel state class
