About the role:

Deputy Head of Adult Learning

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is the local authoritys direct provider of adult education. Officially rated as Good with outstanding in personal development following our OFSTED inspection in July 2022 we are on a journey to Outstanding in all areas. We are going through an exciting phase of reshaping our service to achieve this. We would like to hear from forward thinking innovative experienced senior leaders with previous experience of working in Further Education and ideally within a local authority adult and community education (ACE) setting.

The post holder will be a senior member of the management team and take the lead for delivering a highquality programme of qualification based regulated learning across a range of subjects funded through the Adult Skills Fund.

In common with other members of the senior team the postholder will share corporate responsibility for decisions affecting the Service and will play an important part in the wider leadership of a complex organisation.

This is an ideal role for an experienced senior manager who is passionate about learners teaching learning and assessment and the difference that ACE makes to the lives of learners communities and the economy. You will have a background in further and/or adult community adult learning and passion for supporting learners furthest away from education and employment to gain the skills knowledge and confidence to fully engage.
