In this role you will lead a team dedicated to ensuring public service is provided promptly efficiently and safely. You will also lead work crews in a construction and maintenance environment including prioritizing assigning and delegating tasks and keeping maintenance schedules and projects running smoothly. You will ensure rules and regulations are observed on the job site assess the crews abilities to ensure the quality of work is completed to standards conduct training and perform other construction and maintenance activities as required.

We Require
Two years of experience in skilled construction or maintenance
High school diploma or GED
Must possess a valid Arizona Commercial Class A Drivers License (CDL) with a Tanker Endorsement
State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial drivers license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL
We Also Value
ATTSA Traffic Control certification
Experience in guardrail installation and repair
Experience with landscaping tools
Experience in cattle guard repair
Experience in a maintenance environment including mowing sweeping tree trimming sprinkler repair and/or spraying
Ability to operate various commercial vehicles and construction equipment
Experience supervising or leading work in a maintenance or construction environment
Experience in collaborating with subcontractors vendors and clients to maintain project timelines
Experience with asset management software
Job Contributions
Lead work crews performing construction and maintenance activities
Prioritize and assign tasks; assure that all safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site
Monitor and enforce adherence to division policies procedures and standards
Supervise the repair of roadway surfaces culverts shoulders and guardrails
Supervise traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards; perform tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies
Operate a variety of trucks equipment and hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Complete work orders to meet Division standards; prepare daily activity and material and equipment usage reports
Instruct crew in the proper use and maintenance of equipment
Transport work crews to and from work sites
Perform a variety of miscellaneous support tasks
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 100 pounds occasionally 10 25 pounds frequently or up to 10 20 pounds constantly
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures wetness/humidity respiratory hazards and noise and vibration
Machines tools equipment software and hardware
Gannon backhoe skid steer road broom hand tools chain saw pole saw trimmer concrete mixer miniexcavator and Cartegraph
Protective Equipment Required
Hard hat gloves safety glasses safety vest steel toe boots hearing protection
