Essential Job Functions
- Will oversee one or more site specific projects that will be assigned by the Safety Manager.
- Shall advise Project Management and employees in safe work practices while supplying the information necessary to comply with Morley Moss Safety Procedures the project safety requirements and Local State or Federal regulations.
- Shall ensure that all Morley Moss subcontractors are in compliance with Morley Moss Safety Procedures their own safety programs the project safety requirements and Local State or Federal regulations.
- Shall make employees and subcontractors aware of any special conditions or hazards in existence. These special conditions may include special safety requirements because of operating practices electrical hazards mechanical hazards hazardous materials or other sitespecific conditions.
- Shall routinely inspect the project for the purpose of discovering atrisk work practices and unsafe conditions that could lead to an Incident Nearmiss or violation of the Company or Project Health and Safety Procedures and requirements.
- Has the authority to stop the work of MorleyMoss crews or their subcontractors when he/she observes atrisk work practices or unsafe conditions.
- Shall immediately report all Incidents and Nearmisses to the Project Management Safety Department and Contractor. This includes Incidents or Nearmisses involving:
- Injury or illnesses of employees or employees of subcontractors;
- Injury or illnesses involving the Customer or agents of the Customer;
- Property damage to the surrounding trades or general public; and
- Environmental spills or exposures.
- Shall ensure that all Incident Reports are submitted to the Safety Department and the Contractor within 24 hours of the occurrence or sooner if required by the Project.
- Shall coordinate with the Project Management to ensure that injured/ill employees are escorted by a Manager to the predetermined medical clinic with the proper paperwork and forms completed.
- Able to work up to 50 per week as needed. May include various shift hours and/or weekends based on project needs.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- OSHA 30 Certificate
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred bachelors degree in safety engineering safety management occupational environment health industrial health or related field is imperative. Wide experience and knowledge of environmental health and safety is necessary in order to perform the job of Safety Manager.
- Preferred 510years of prior safety experience electrical background participation in root cause analysis NFPA 70e
- Working knowledge of the construction industry operations management and safety practices a plus.
- Working knowledge of federal state and city regulations and guidelines
