Are you passionate about chemical biology and eager to contribute to this labs research The Hagler Lab part of the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join our team. In this role you will explore the world of RNA interactions and their effects on gene expression in cells through chemical biology. Our lab focuses on measuring predicting and modulating RNA interactions to understand RNA regulation and develop therapeutic interventions. As a Research Assistant you will design and conduct experiments analyze data and develop new methods to achieve our project goals. Additionally you will provide essential administrative and managerial support helping to plan and direct specific phases of our research projects. Opportunities to Contribute

  • Designs and plans RNA interaction experiments ensuring alignment with research questions.

  • Coordinates experimental activities selects methods and assists students and staff.

  • Chooses analysis software to interpret data and report findings.

  • Applies standard research techniques and maintains detailed records.

  • Uses computers and lab equipment for data and statistical analysis summarizing results.

  • Helps prepare funding proposals and manage research project finances.

  • Communicates with vendors to procure equipment and materials.

  • Assists with installing operating maintaining and repairing research equipment.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate bachelors degree in chemistry or biology or a related field.

A wellqualified candidate will also possess

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry or biology.

  • Prior professional/lab experience with cell culture and/or small molecule synthesis.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hires education and experience.

Special Note: This position is funded from a grant and/or contract which is renewed under provisions for the grantor of the contract. Your offer of employment is dependent on continued funding. If available funding is eliminated you will receive a sixtyday notice.
