Job Description
We are currently taking resumes/applications for an Electriciansforthe Thibodaux LAand surroundingarea. Duties/Responsibilitiesmay/may not be limited tothe following:
- Position Requirements:
- MUST be able to pass drug screen
- MUST have reliable transportation.
- MUST be able to provide own basic hand tools
- MUSTbe able to provide PPE (Hard hat steel toes safety glasses & gloves)
- Required Skills:
- Candidate musthave ELECTRICAN & conduit experience
- Knowledge of electrical systems hand tools and industrial equipment.
- Awareness of national state and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Motivated selfstarter who can manage projects and make decisions.
- Ability to read schematics blueprints and other technical documents.
- Requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations.
- Must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents such as blueprints schematics or instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws using hand tools and threads wires through conduit to terminals for example connection boxes circuit breakers voltage regulators and switch panels.
- Strips insulation from wire ends and solders ends to terminals using stripping pliers and soldering iron. Connects powersupply circuits to radio radar sonar fire control and other electronic equipment.
- Tests electrical characteristics for example voltage resistance and phase angle in circuits using voltmeters ohmmeters and phase rotation indicators.
- May also construct instrument panels using hand tools rulers dividers and power drills following specifications.
- Troubleshoots electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance repairs or replacement requirements.
- Performs maintenance and repair of generators switchboards controllers circuit breakers electrical motors distribution panels alarm and lighting circuits.
- Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required.
- Supervises and participates in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard ships.
- Maintains adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitions replacements as required.
- Maintains electrical system maintenance histories notating date and extent of repairs and/or alterations.
- Cleaning and preparing a job site
- Mange housekeeping activities when requested.
- Maintain the work area clean safe and organized.
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Understand safety precautions associated with working in trenches and trench boxes.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
- Report safety hazards quality and production issues to management immediately
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
- Must have good endurance
- Must be able to stand bend stoop squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
- Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust dirt and various other debris metal and paint fumes gases
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to high precarious places and outside weather conditions
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
