Purchases and maintains inventory levels at competitive prices
Calculates purchasing needs based on current and past usage reports and market conditions.
Maintains positive relationships with vendors and plants.
Ensures vendors are paid for purchases in a timely manner and resolves issues with accounts payables.
Works with others within department and the company to achieve desired goals.
Assures that the product is delivered on schedule at the negotiated price and meets the quality standards of the company.
Maintains timely control of orders amendments shipping notices and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
Reviews and tracks purchasing history to forecast future inventory needs and analyze performance.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (B. S. from fouryear college or university or three to five years related experience in the lumber industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
