Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Anatomy Lab Coordinator is responsible for managing the cadaver lab as well as teaching anatomy and physiology both lecture and lab components to undergraduate graduate and doctoral students. These components are part of the curriculum for various programs such as the Master of Science in Athletic Training Master of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Doctor of Occupational Therapy Doctor of Physical Therapy and undergraduate programs in biology exercise science and nursing. This is a 12month faculty position with partial release time and partial teaching expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the human anatomy lab
  • Procurement and preparation of donors
  • Ordering of supplies equipment and teaching materials
  • Scheduling and supervision of the lab for use by entities internal and external to the university
  • Lead or teamteach with other faculty in the instruction and testing of students inanatomy and physiology courses as needed
  • Contribute to the curricular development of integrating gross anatomy into biology and healthcare academic programs
  • Contribute to university and program assessment
  • Supervise graduate assistants student workers and/or lab assistant who help maintain the lab
  • Participate in University service and professional development
  • Support the mission of the University of Saint Mary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Chair

REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned doctoral degree in the biological sciences or a related area
  • Experience in a gross anatomy lab
  • A demonstrated understanding of principles of human anatomy and physiology
  • A willingness to work with program directors and faculty members

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior or current academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level

OTHER:

  • 12month position
  • Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and training
