Job Description

We are looking for a Security Engineer for the SDLC Security team to help secure our supply chain and ensure that all internal and clientfacing software we build at Datadog has verifiable integrity and trustworthiness.

Youll join at an ideal time to make a big impact as the need for robust supply chain security is higher than its ever been. Datadog as a platform is growing fast and is used very widely and the continued and exciting expansion of our product portfolio requires agile thinkers with a grounding in security fundamentals. Youll be involved in every step of securing our supply chain and the platforms that enable CICD at Datadogmodeling risks for existing and new areas designing solutions that mitigate threats to ourselves and our customers leveraging LLMs to generate programmatic detections and fixes to exploits and writing mission critical software that secures our software from source all the way to runtime.

What Youll Do:

  • Implement and finetune static application security testing (SAST) tools with a focus on highfidelity lowfriction precommit and PRlevel scanning.
  • Partner with Senior Engineers on the team to build out fine grained identity and access management systems throughout Datadogs SDLC
  • Leverage LLM based tools to generate programmatic detections and fixes to exploits and attack paths
  • Design and implement custom heuristics for dependency health and safety as well as the policies that govern their usage
  • Reduce the attack surface of Datadogs clientfacing software by mitigating build and supply chain risks.
  • Build provable integrity mechanisms throughout the entire supply chain working from source management systems out through to node level configuration in Datadogs compute

Who You Are:

  • Have 2 years of security or software engineering experience especially on teams building platform and user security features.
  • Fluent in one or more modern coding languages (Python Go etc.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively on a distributed team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced high growth environment.
  • Knowledgeable of attack techniques in modern SaaS applications
  • You are excited to work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security seamlessly into the development process.
  • You want to work in an environment with exciting challenges and opportunities to make an impact.
