Job Description
Experience the spinechilling excitement as Busch Gardens Williamsburg celebrates over 25 years of HowlOScream! Join our team to deliver terrifying chills and thrills as dusk descends and the creatures of the night awaken.

Alumni Auditions are for INVITED SCARE SQUAD ALUMNI ONLY. If you did not receive an email invitation please visit our auditions or careers page to apply for a general audition. Invited Scare Squad Alumni should follow the emailed instructions to register for Alumni Auditions including completing this application and all registration forms and signups. WALK INS NOT PERMITTED! Please email with any questions.
Current Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Water Country USA Ambassadors must audition on July 31st or August 2nd and are therefore ineligible to audition at Alumni Auditions. Please apply internally for these dates accessed via Career Opportunities on SEAPort.
HowlOScream 2025 runs Friday September 5th Sunday November 2nd.

What it takes to succeed:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Our performers entertain our guests in various ways including but not limited to actors costumed characters or specialty talent (such as stiltwalking and bungee harness).
- We are looking for outgoing performers who can tell a story through their performance. Must have great showmanship.
- Roles may be based on characteristics such as height physical type gender and any other attribute that aligns with the creative vision for our HowlOScream characters.
- Must attend a live audition.
- Be a team player and have a positive attitude.
- Participate in all physical and vocal warmups and cool downs.
- Ability to stand sit kneel crawl lay down and/or jump up repeatedly for duration of shift.
- Flexibility in schedule and availability for the duration of the event.
- Must be able to work long sets (multiple hours) doing repetitive movement and vocalizations.
- Must be able to wear makeup and masks.
- Must be comfortable working in dark conditions extreme temperatures and around theatrical effects such as stage fog lighting effects and sound effects.
- Experience is not required just a passion for Halloween!
