Certification: Oklahoma Secondary Administrator(s) Degree (Preferred)/Pass an OSBI Background Check Bachelors and/or Masters degree in education/administration and/or equivalent required subject hours.
Job description
Assists the school principals in the provision of direction leadership and daytoday management of educational activities. Plays an integral role in the establishment and maintenance of a school climate that is conducive to learning including overseeing the enforcement of school rules and regulations and the implementation of disciplinary measures when deemed necessary. Oversees the student admission dismissal referral and retention processes monitoring student and staff attendance and supervising curriculum development activities. Supervises professional and paraprofessional personnel and provides administrativelevel liaison with internal and external components constituents and programs. May serves as a member of the School Governance Council coordinating and manages school organizations and participates in the planning implementation and administration of sitebased management and decentralization plans
Essential Functions (Responsibilities and Tasks)
- Serves as part of the assigned schools administrative team;
- Oversees the administration of school programs and the implementation of policies;
- Assists in planning organizing and evaluating services for professional and nonprofessional personnel such as staff development activities resource management and instructional program development.
- Interacts with teachers and other staff and at the secondary school level with department heads and chairpersons in developing materials and methodologies for the delivery of personalized instructional programs
- May serve as a member of the School Council; participates in the development of a comprehensive educational plan designed to meet OutcomeBased Education guidelines including curriculum integration and interdisciplinary approaches to learning; assists in the transition from traditional to OutcomeBased Education dimension; develops and oversees the implementation of revised assessment evaluation and reporting methods.
- Tours the school building and its external perimeters to monitor safety and security; directs and coordinates staff supervision of areas such as hallways and cafeterias; ensures that schools rules and negotiations are enforced by security personnel on the premises handles student disciplinary measures.
- Coordinates the provision of student support services; directs the support programs designed for targeted atrisk students.
- Possibly conducts classroom observations on instructional staff; provides input to the school principal during the teacher evaluation process.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with community based groups parents students and District administrators; works collaboratively with Home and School Associations and student organizations; develops resources within the community.
- Assist in coordinating extracurricular and athletic activities; may engage in beforeschool afterschool and evening activities as required.
- Counsel with students as needed regarding personal issues and schoolrelated issues
- Mentor students
- Provide positive reinforcement parent calls and activities for struggling students
- Administer and enforce school policies related to discipline and student attendance
- Oversee and supervise the management of student attendance and discipline records
- Assist faculty with student behavior and concerns
- Work with principals to establish steps and procedures to handle challenging students and standards of conduct
- Communicate to parents teachers and faculty regarding infractions of the code of conduct academic integrity or other policies
- Monitor students excessive absences and tardies and communicate those to parents
- Enforce Dress Code Policy
- Serve as an administrator on duty at school events
- Administer and provide documentation of discipline as needed
- Assist in the development of policies/protocols and practices for student discipline and behavior
- Work directly with staff administration students and parents in regard to disagreements or misunderstandings.

This job operates in a professional school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.

The school is currently a multilevel facility which requires this position to navigate flights of stairs regularly to meet responsibilities as it relates to the school.
Talking must be able to express ideas and speak clearly and orally in person or over the phone to parents students and/or other employees.
Hearing the ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Close visual acuity is required for viewing a computer monitor preparing and analyzing data and figures transcribing and reading.
Standing walking and sitting for extended periods of time moving about on foot for lecturing and monitoring students in the classroom as well as throughout the building.
Regularly sitting at the computer requiring dexterity of hands and fingers.
Occasional lifting of at least 25 pounds.
Environment is primarily indoors in a classroom environment.
