Whats the job
The primary role of the Laboratory Assistant is to support the Laboratory Coordinator and ensure that they can perform their duties effectively. The Laboratory Assistant helps to improve the efficiency of an organization by enhancing the productivity of the Laboratory Coordinator. This allows the Laboratory Coordinator to focus on their core tasks while the Laboratory Assistant takes care of more menial tasks and other responsibilities associated with preparing laboratorybased teaching sessions and spaces.
Daytoday accountabilities:
Working closely with the Laboratory Coordinator and Academic staff:
Ensure stocks of teaching materials are maintained
Class set up for simulations and assessments
Printing of learning materials as required
Cleaning refilling relabeling and restocking of equipment / consumables
Recycling of suitable equipment
Ensuring laboratory spaces are clean and tidy
Other duties as determined on a casebycase basis
This is a casual role based at the Surry Hills Campus on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday with 5day availability preferred.

Minimum of a Higher Education Diploma or enrolment in same
Good attention to detail
Effective timemanagement skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously and with the team
