JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary: Assists in the planning and directing of accounting activities within the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate associates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Other duties may be assigned including the following:
  • Supports accurate and timely monthly quarterly and year end close.
  • Supports the daily activities of the Accounting department.
  • Supports training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Supports reporting Accounting department business plans including manpower and budget.
  • Supports the completion of monthly financial closings account reconciliations and analysis activities.
  • Supports internal/external auditsrelated reports and inquiries.
  • Prepares and updates Accounting forms and documentation.
  • Supports Cost Accounting activities and functions
  • Support department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Supports Quarterly Physical Inventory financialrelated activities
  • Supports monthly forecast preparations
  • Supports annual expense budget creation
  • Collaborate with department managers to monitor monthly budget variances.
  • Gap Analysis Budget Reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for COGSrelated accounts
  • Communicate with management and others in a cooperative manner
  • Required to wear all PPE. Adhere to all Safety Procedures and adhere to Astemos Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department and/or to your direct supervisor.
  • Creates necessary documents (work instructions) to help aid with training for finance department activity.
  • Performs due diligence on calculated and contributed data included in financial reports internal and external
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
  • Responsible for following all directions given by site and regional management on all projects
  • Uses time management skills to organize prioritize and delegate multiple projects to meet project deadlines

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each primary responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:

  • 35 years minimum in a similar function within a manufacturing environment automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • 4year degree in accounting

Background/Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel Word
  • ERP System experience and abilities
  • Use of office equipment i.e.. fax copier calculator
  • Ability to work with others in an open office team environment
  • Ability to multitask / work a fastpaced office
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity business ethics and confidentiality
  • Ability to build friendly work relationships develop cross department teams and mentor junior staff
  • Familiar with accounting concepts practices and procedures Strong in GAAP familiar with IFRS
  • Annual Operating budget
  • Budget vs Actual reporting
  • Regional Financial template sales analysis GAAP analysis
  • Headquarters monthly/quarterly reporting
