Job Description Summary

This position will be located at the East Hanover NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered.

The Associate Director Financial Planning & Reporting role is instrumental in leading or supporting consolidation of financial results budgeting and planning processes preparation of management reporting and business updates financial systems stability as well as adoption of AI forecasting.



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthend closing process with focus on Innovative Medicines US (IMUS) P&L and variance analysis
  • Consolidate R&Os and recommend action plans to achieve forecasts
  • Understands operational/business priorities/challenges and translates them into performance metrics
  • Ensure ongoing business performance is appropriately monitored and measured and drive early warning for redirection of resources
  • Lead the consolidation of IMUS P&L in the 3year planning cycles operationalization cycles and adhoc outlooks within the year
  • Lead centralized reporting needs to best support the business with coordination across the Finance organization as well as preparation of business updates for senior management
  • Lead/enable innovative ideas and use of digital tools to improve processes and understand performance by following the principles of automation simplification and standardization
  • Contributing to team and departmental success by performing requested tasks as needed

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 5 years Finance experience preferably in Pharmaceuticals
  • High learning agility problem solving skills strong attention to details
  • Experience collaborating in a matrix team environment
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • BPC SAP Excel PowerPoint intermediate to advanced

Desirable Requirements:

  • Degree subject area in Finance; MBA a plus
  • Business Planning & Analysis (BPA) experience preferred

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between: $119700.00 and $222300.00/year; however while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to geographical location experience level knowledge skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a signon bonus restricted stock units and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an atwill position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
