Job Description
The Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) organization is focused on building worldclass generalpurpose intelligence services. Its primary mission involves developing highly autonomous systems through novel model architectures learning and inference strategies. The team works on creating a family of new Generative AI models and applications that are efficient and capable.
As a Security Engineer within the AGI Security team you will play a crucial role in ensuring that AGI large language models and applications are designed and executed with the highest security standards to maintain customer trust. You will tackle a diverse array of security challenges ranging from novel threats in Generative AI to selecting and implementing scalable and secure features such as key management solutions and encrypted storage. You will collaborate with applied scientists software engineers security engineers as well as internal partners and external researchers to develop innovative technologies to solve some of our hardest security problems and build paved path solutions that builder teams can adopt while building Generative AI models and applications.
Key job responsibilities
1. Identify novel methods to perform adversarial testing on AGI models and applications.
2. Participate in the design and architecture of highly autonomous AGI systems with a focus on security
3. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (applied scientists software engineers security engineers) to integrate security measures into AGI development processes
4. Contribute to the development of novel model architectures learning and inference strategies from a security perspective
5. Contribute to security automation tooling for building new Generative AI detection and tooling capabilities
6. Identify actionable and scalable mitigations for identified vulnerabilities and collaborate with AGI product and engineering teams to influence and prioritize their resolution.
7. Mentor builders who aspire to become security advocates & security engineers via 11 sessions & office hours.

Handson experience implementing security measures for AI/ML models and applications
Familiarity with common attack vectors and vulnerabilities specific to generative AI such as prompt injection model inversion and data poisoning
Knowledge of cryptography and secure key management practices
Experience with secure software development practices and DevSecOps
Familiarity with relevant AI security frameworks and guidelines (e.g. MITRE ATLAS OWASP Machine Learning Security Top 10
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to tackle novel security challenges in the AI domain
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and explain complex security concepts
Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with rapidly evolving AI security landscape
Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science AI/ML or Cybersecurity with a focus on AI security
5 years of experience in AI/ML security particularly in largescale production environments
Proven track record of research contributions or publications in AI security especially in generative AI
Deep expertise in adversarial machine learning and defense mechanisms against AIspecific attacks
Familiarity with AIspecific formal verification methods

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
