The salary range for this position is CAD $40.14/Hr. CAD $40.14/Hr.

Summary

Under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor carries out skilled journeymanlevel electrical tasks involving the installation troubleshooting construction modification repair maintenance and servicing of electrical systems and equipment within the hospital.

What You Bring

Education

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia. Two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

Your Day to Day:

  • Performs preventative maintenance testing repairs and troubleshooting on hospital systems including fire alarms security and communication systems.

  • Installs communication and electrical wiring and equipment; modifies and repairs circuits appliances and devices.

  • Conducts safety checks on equipment motors and controls to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

  • Coordinates with user departments to schedule work; gathers necessary tools materials and equipment for each project.

  • Reviews work requests and consults with departments to clarify specifications and project requirements.

  • Interprets blueprints technical drawings and specifications to plan and execute electrical projects.

  • Estimates material and labor needs; provides cost recommendations for planned projects.

  • Assigns tasks to designated staff and provides training and orientation as needed.

  • Maintains inventory of tools supplies and equipment; prepares reports and records; recommends supply purchases.

  • Performs additional related duties as required.
