The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at General Motors you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted marketleading technology products in a secure stable scalable way in the platform. As a core technology contributor you will be responsible for designing and developing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support the organizations business objectives.

Digital Products Engineering (DPE) Commerce enables commerce between General Motors GM Dealers and Consumers. From online vehicle shopping to service scheduling to buying parts accessories and digital experiences DPE Commerce focuses on every phase of commerce.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center Cole Engineering Center Tower GM Global Technical Center. Austin IT Innovation Center North or the Mountain View California at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What You will Do:

  • Work in a fastpaced environment with business technology and designers to build new capabilities platforms features and improving existing capabilities.
  • Responsible for customizing developing and supporting solutions on the platform.
  • Drive Salesforce enhancements and improvements.
  • Build integrations between salesforce and other internal systems to automate business processes.
  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers) and Java Script Lightning Components Lightning Web Components Visualforce Flows Omni Script and Flex Cards to extend Salesforce.
  • Verify solutions by writing and executing automated test classes.
  • Collaborate mentor and guide other engineers within the team.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal written and verbal communication skills including the ability to negotiate advise influence others and work collaboratively.
  • Document and analyze processes procedures and ensure code is properly documented.
  • Create and maintain a code repository to ensure a seamless deployment process for all team members.
  • Stay current on the latest trends and Salesforce releases.
  • Selfdirected can solve business problems from inception to implementation can solve business problems without explicit direction.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in programming and configuring with Apex (classes and triggers) Lightning Components Lightning Web Components Visualforce Flows Omni Script Flex Cards JavaScript (ES6 ReactJS or similar platforms.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science (CS) Electronics or a related field.
  • 5 plus years of software development experience.
  • Extensive experience in designing and developing large scale technology solutions with substantial insights into Salesforce Sales Cloud Service Cloud and Communities.
  • Extensive understanding of Object Oriented (OO) design patterns.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Excellent understanding of Salesforces SOQL and SOSL Security model Sales Cloud Service Cloud Chatter and product offerings.
  • Design experience in Salesforce Lightning UI Understanding of various userbased security models.
  • Experience with database concepts and data modeling design.
  • Extensive knowledge in modeling and application design and architecture.
  • Able to identify platform risks issues and dependencies and communicate strategic risk to business executives and drive the mitigation across the business.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams including but not limited to Data migration Testing Prebuild Integration and adapt to changing project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Service Sales Platform Developer I Platform Developer II Platform App Builder certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in automated testing (unit testing and functional testing) Strong Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and REST).
  • Exposure to AWS Azure and SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with system migrations.
  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles and tools like Copado.
  • Creative flexible and willing to continuously change evolve and improve software development processes.
  • Strong time management skills and communication/leadership skills.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York Colorado California or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $93400 $149600. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
