At the Digital Transformation Department you will be part of a team responsible for reinventing the way how our customers interact with our organization. Starting from Motorolas client engagement pages going through our ecommerce and order management platforms to client support services. Job Description
Motorola Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Developer to join our growing engineering team. You will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our core PostgreSQL database infrastructure ensuring high availability performance and data integrity. This is a handson role requiring a deep understanding of PostgreSQL and best practices for database development.
Responsibilities:
Develop maintain and optimize stored procedures functions triggers and views within our PostgreSQL database
Write highquality efficient and welldocumented SQL code
Design and implement database schemas that meet the needs of our applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues
Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement database solutions
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our database infrastructure and processes
Monitor database health performance and security
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
Basic Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience
3 years of experience as a Database Developer with a strong focus on PostgreSQL
Proven experience developing and maintaining stored procedures functions triggers and views in PostgreSQL
Excellent SQL skills including experience with performance tuning and optimization
Solid understanding of database design principles including normalization and indexing
Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with database administration tasks including backups recovery and user management
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
Familiarity with cloudbased database services (e.g. AWS RDS Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
Experience with other relational databases (e.g. MySQL Oracle).
