  • St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks a fulltime middle school English/Language Arts teacher for the 202526 school year beginning August 18 2025. The content area specialty role 6th8th Grade) will also come with gradelevel homeroom responsibilities. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates strengths.

    STCA is a Preschool8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle just 2 miles east of downtown. St. Therese is a welcoming diverse and faithfilled community that has been igniting the faith minds and dreams of our students since 1927. The school currently serves 185 students ages 314 35 of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Our families commute from over 40 zip codes to be a part of our community and over 60 of our families receive tuition assistance. Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 35 team members and is expanding along with our enrollment.

    Our middle school classes for our 97th school year will be about 20 students per class. We are one of the most diverse (racially ethnically religiously economically geographically) Catholic schools in the region. We are a small community with a family feel. We have a truly dedicated team of educators and parents a servicelearning program and a Blended Learning model that allows us to individualize the learning experience for each child and readily access data to inform instruction through our resources and programs. The middle school curriculum has been adding projectbased learning initiatives to align with our servicelearning focus areas of caring for our elders caring for Creation and caring for the homeless. We have a dualleadership model with coprincipals to support our students families and teachers at this time.

    The Middle School team 6th8th) consists of 4 fulltime teachers with content area specialties and each homeroom teacher is responsible for their own Religion classes. We will likely have one TA in MS for the 2526 school year. Opportunities for collaboration joint planning through the PLC process and implementing creative new ideas exist and are welcome. Applicants should be missiondriven highly motivated dedicated and creative individuals who are interested in working with students and families from all backgrounds in a diverse Catholic setting. The ideal candidate will bring passion energy faith and a strong work ethic and enjoy partnering with colleagues and candidate must also desire to help students of varying ability levels succeed. We expect all team members to lead by example.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor Degree in Education(Masters preferred)

    • Understanding and genuine appreciation of children

    • Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse faithcentered community

    • Ability to utilize educational technology in the classroom

    • Preferred active Catholic

    • Current Washington (or out of state) teaching certificate (or the ability to obtain one)with a (preferably) 612 endorsement or be in pursuit of this credential.

    This position comes with full benefits and a salary compensation based on experience can range $38000$50000 range).Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
