Job Description

Job Title: PartTime LSAMP Peer Mentor
Location: Indianapolis
Job Type: PartTime
Salary Range: $15.00/HR
Reports To: Department Chair

About the Role:
Peer Mentors are one of the primary LSAMP representatives responsible for interacting with
students. They Identify and assist peers who struggle in designated STEM subject area. They also assist instructors with organizing labs.

Key Responsibilities:

The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.

  • Meet with assigned faculty mentor weekly to discuss weekly assignments and receive

  • guidance.

  • Tutors identify and assist peers/classmates who struggle in your designated subject area.

  • Learning Assistants setup and organize labs as directed by the instructor.

  • Complete all other programspecific assignments by the posted deadlines.

  • Log records of tutoring and other assigned activities in a timely manner.

Position Requirements:

  • United States citizen or permanent resident.

  • Undergraduate fulltime currently enrolled for classes at an IN LSAMP Campus

  • Enrolled in a STEM major that qualifies under the LSAMP NSF STEM Classification of Instructional Programs

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0.
