Role Definition
The Construction Industries transmission development team in the drivetrain control systems & validation division is looking for a Test & Validation Engineer. In the role you will contribute to the design and development of transmission and torque converter control systems for cycling drawbar and OEM applications. You will be provided the unique opportunity to directly impact machine performance and durability for a variety of drivetrain programs.
What you will do
Working with design mechatronics systems integration and software engineers to create develop and optimize hardware and controls for powershift transmissions.
Planning and executing onmachine control software calibration and validation.
Managing control system development specifications and design reviews.
Designing clutch control strategies to meet drivetrain performance and durability targets.
Performing simulation for clutch control systems.
Collecting and analyzing data to understand and optimize controls performance.
Degree Requirement
A degree in an accredited engineering computer science or materials science curriculum OR equivalent experience.
Skills you must have

Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine theroot cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decisionmaking process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
Effective Communications: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop andprovide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Project Management: Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan organize monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Product Testing: Extensive knowledge of product testing approaches techniques and tools; ability to design plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting approaches tools and techniques; ability to anticipate detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Top candidates will also have
Controls development tools and process experience (Powershift transmission controls preferred)
Ability and interest in working in a varying environment (field/shop/lab)
Ability to operate machines (after training)
Additional Information
This position will close on 04/28/2025.
This position will be located in Washington IL (Peoria Proving Grounds).
Domestic relocation is NOT Available.

Travel requirements will be up to 10.
