The Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital is pleased to offer a fellowship program in BMTCT. This program is intended for practitioners who have completed a Pediatric Hematology and Oncology fellowship and who wish to gain additional expertise and experience in transplant and cellular therapy. The training program is 12 months in duration and can be customized to meet participants individual learning goals. Our program trains physicians in the many aspects of the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy. As a fellow you will work directly with leaders in the field to further develop your knowledge base and clinical skills. Fellows are also regularly involved in clinical research and will have immense exposure to clinical trial design and implementation as well as training in documentation and reporting for patients being treated on investigational trials.
The BMTCT clinical program atSt. Judeis a highvolume transplant and cellular therapy service that serves a diverse pediatric adolescent and young adult patient population. We conduct approximately 100 transplants per year consisting of both autologous and allogeneic donors for a variety of malignant and nonmalignant disease indications. BMTCT also provides a cellular therapy program which includes the use of viral specific Tcells (VSTs) chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) engineered Tcells and gene therapy products.
Our inpatient and outpatient teams are fully staffed by advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs). We also provide multidisciplinary care for all of our patients. This includes routine incorporation of psychosocial palliative care pharmaceutical and infectious diseases experts into the patients daily care. Our team works with subspecialists across a variety of disciplines and has a close partnership withSt. Judes dedicated intensive care unit (ICU) and critical care specialists. As a clinical fellow in our program you will advance patient care and conduct research in one of the largest pediatric BMTCT programs in the world. Faculty in theSt. JudeBMTCT program have been pioneers in the field for over 30 years. Our department consists of extremely active research and clinical programs both of which provide trainees with exposure to standard and cuttingedge approaches in the field. You will treat a high volume of patients in inpatient and outpatient settings as part of a multidisciplinary environment.
