Job Description

The MS&T Lead Scientist & Supervisorrole encompasses team leadership operational excellence and fosters a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement.
This position will manage capabilities focusing on scaleup of various radioisotope processes operational excellence and development of continuous improvement projects following cGMP. This position will lead the Ac225 MS&T isotopes team including daytoday oversight of R&D operations safety and quality.

Essential Functions:
Technical & Strategic Leadership
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP practices policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders & other departments in the organization to ensure production objectives are met key initiatives are completed and staff are properly developed and trained.
  • Set KPIs for continuous improvement projects communicate key program updates and drive improvements in quality safety and productivity to ensure KPIs are met.
  • Interact and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders internally (including Product Development Team Leadership Team & Project Steering Teams) and externally (including business partners industry partners and service providers).
  • Demonstrate strategic planning skills strong leadership skills effective communication skills high level of drive integrity and energy.
  • Provide technical leadership in areas including Ac225/Ra226 radiochemistry process improvement cGMP manufacturing & analytical development to the team and organization team management.
  • Ensures quality control standards are maintained to meet/exceed customer expectations for both production and research/development.
  • Serve as a technical consultant & SME for the production teams during troubleshooting root cause analysis & for major NCMRs/CAPAs.
  • Lead deployment of technical solutions CAPAs & managing effective change control to Ac225/Ra226 operations.
  • Execute technical projects to improve process control yield purity and/or productivity.
Team Management
  • Leads and inspires a diverse team of skilled professionals.
  • Establishes and maintains a technical direction and supervisory oversight structure for the department including career progression and succession planning.
  • Hires fires promotes disciplines coaches and awards staff members according to organizational policies.
  • Holds consistent coaching sessions through 1:1s and career development meetings.
  • Ensures the onboarding training and career development of staff members.
  • Within the department and across the organization fosters a culture of respect safety quality and continuous improvement aligning with the mission vision and values of the organization.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 5 years experience operating in a cGMP manufacturing environment
  • 2 years experience of direct supervising including day to day activities of a team of eight or more providing mentoring and career development coaching.
  • Experience with radiochemistry and/or radiopharmaceuticals.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Masters degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with chromatography separation liquid/solid extraction electrochemistry or amalgamation/cementation processes is an asset
  • Handson experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing 5S)
  • 5 years experience of direct supervising day to day activities of a team of ten or more providing mentoring and career development coaching

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
  • Fulltime position.
  • Companys standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6a 6p with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts. This position will have regular working hours during M F with an expectation of adjusting to work outside of the standards operating hours as needed.
  • Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area. Travel between locations is expected in the role.
