Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Duty Manager for a luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding guest service and has a strong understanding of fivestar standards.
Experience and Skills Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Duty Manager or Assistant Hotel Manager
Previous experience in a 5star hotel environment is advantageous
Proficiency in Protel and MS Office
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to sustainable quality
Ability to drive innovation and deliver results
Proactive adaptable and solutionsdriven
Collaborative with strong team leadership skills
Able to manage ambiguity and navigate change confidently
Inherent Requirements:
Matric qualification
Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Hotel Management
Valid driver s license
Ability to work shifts including night shifts
High level of personal and professional integrity
Certification in First Aid Firefighting or Health and Safety is advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:
Facilitate a seamless guest journey through effective planning and instay contact
Address and escalate guest complaints and challenges promptly
Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements as discussed with Management
Ensure all guestfacing staff maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company dress code
Uphold and enforce a strict disciplinary code within the team
Liaise closely with the Finance and Reservations teams
Drive and communicate guest feedback to relevant departments
Schedule training to address service challenges and improve delivery
Communicate occupancy changes and coordinate room moves across departments
Conduct regular training on updated SOPs and new services
Oversee Pre/In/Post (PIT) check procedures to ensure seamless service delivery
Manage monthly reconciliation of Front Office external supplier accounts
Maintain Ostatus (zero balance) and manage Management Accounts
Control waste and efficiently manage Front Office resources
Handle Front Office floats (reception and forex)
Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards
