Key Responsibilities:
Safari Experience & Operations
Assist the Head Guide in the daytoday oversight of the guiding department
Lead and conduct guided game drives bush walks tracking and ecological discussions
Step in as acting Head Guide in their absence overseeing the safari department and all related responsibilities
Ensure optimal game drive scheduling and efficient allocation of guides and vehicles
Serve as one of the registered responsible persons for firearms overseeing handling and licensing compliance
Participate in the maintenance of safari vehicles and equipment
Help manage lodge social media platforms with relevant and engaging content
Support emergency response and incident management including medical fire and environmental events
Training & Mentorship
Support the Head Guide in mentoring and developing junior guides and trainee field guides
Facilitate training and progression toward higher qualifications in accordance with FGASA and company standards
Guest Care & Service
Ensure guest preferences and requirements are documented and communicated prior to arrival
Deliver warm personalized service with attention to detail and professionalism
Handle guest concerns with discretion escalating to management when necessary
Qualifications & Skills Required:
FGASA NQF4 Lead Trails Guide
Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) and Rifle Proficiency
First Aid Level 2 Certification
Valid Driver s License with PrDP
Previous experience as a Senior Guide or Assistant Head Guide essential
Strong knowledge of safari operations planning budgeting and departmental administration
Proficiency in guide training mentoring and developing junior team members
Excellent communication (verbal and written) leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Strong focus on guest satisfaction safety and consistent delivery of the safari experience
Understanding of the MORE guiding culture or similar highend hospitality standards
