Job Description

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Site Manager based in Cape Town to oversee the security operations at one of our clients facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety security and smooth operations of the site by managing a team of security officers monitoring security procedures and liaising directly with the client. The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to managing staffing and acting as the main point of contact for both the client and the security team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills experience in security management and a strong understanding of warehouse security requirements. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing company.

  • Site Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily security operations at the client site to ensure the safety and security of the premises staff and assets.
  • Monitor the performance of security personnel and ensure they are following established security protocols and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify security vulnerabilities and address issues promptly.
  • Ensure the site s security systems (e.g. CCTV alarms access control) are functioning correctly and address any technical issues as needed.
  • Staff Supervision & Leadership:
  • Manage train and supervise a team of security officers ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained always.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations provide feedback and identify areas for improvement within the team.
  • Ensure all security staff are properly trained and certified by policies and client requirements.
  • Coordinate security shift schedules to ensure coverage for all shifts including nights weekends and holidays.
  • Address any staff issues such as absenteeism performance concerns and disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
  • Client Liaison:
  • Act as the main point of contact between the company and the client ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.
  • Meet regularly with the client to discuss security concerns provide updates and address any requests or issues that arise.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring the client s security needs are met to the highest standard.
  • Provide reports and updates to the client on security incidents operational performance and other relevant matters.
  • Security Protocols & Compliance:
  • Enforce security protocols and ensure all team members adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations industry standards and company policies including health and safety requirements.
  • Investigate any security breaches incidents or irregularities and take appropriate action including reporting to the client and internal management.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on security activities incidents and operational issues.
  • Risk Management & Incident Response:
  • Respond to emergencies security incidents or breaches ensuring a prompt and effective resolution.
  • Assess risks to the warehouse site and implement strategies to mitigate security threats.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all securityrelated incidents incidents patrol logs and activities.
  • Provide regular updates and detailed reports to both company management and the client on site security performance.
  • Complete and submit daily weekly and monthly security reports as required.


Requirements


  • Minimum of 35 years experience in a security management or supervisory role ideally within warehouse or commercial security environments.
  • Previous experience managing teams of security personnel and liaising with clients.
  • A strong understanding of warehouse security needs access control and surveillance systems.
  • PSIRA Grade A.
  • Relevant security management certifications (e.g. SIA License) are essential.
  • A degree in Security Management Criminal Justice or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with a focus on motivation and performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients effectively staff and senior management.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle emergencies efficiently.
  • Good problemsolving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in highpressure situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with security management software is a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead train and develop security teams effectively.
  • Customer Service: Strong commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify and mitigate risks within a security environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to security protocols regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage shifting priorities and respond effectively to changing situations.
